Dr. Aqeel Hashmi, MD, is a board-certified General Adult Psychiatrist with over 33 years of experience, currently practicing in Richmond, TX. He graduated from Dow Medical College Karachi in 1991 and completed his residency at Baylor College of Medicine.

Dr. Hashmi specializes in Psychotic Disorders, Addiction & Substance Abuse, and Personality Disorders. He has extensive experience in both public and private sectors, focusing on patients with severe and enduring mental illnesses. His forensic expertise includes treating patients in secure and correctional settings. Dr. Hashmi is the Medical Director of a 72-bed behavioral health facility and the lead psychiatrist at a correctional facility.
